How to clean your dry palette – oil paint #

For any size of Glass Palette: how to clean your glass palette when using oil paint that is still workable; a piece of kitchen roll with a small amount of white spirit or turpentine is normally all you need to wipe away any residue or unwanted paint. You should avoid letting your oil paint fully dry on the glass palette. Removing dried oil paint requires more effort and time.

How to clean your dry palette – acrylic paint #

For heavy-body acrylics, a damp piece of kitchen roll (or equivalent) will work well while the paint is still wet. If the paint has dried you can usually peel off the paint with your fingers or your can submerge your palette in lukewarm water for a few minutes and the paint will come off easily. Scrub any remaining traces with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge.
